Sanibel Fire & Rescue District employs 21 uniformed firefighters and 5 administrative staff members. The District works to protect lives and property through its involvement in firefighting, emergency medical care, fire prevention, disaster response, community service, and public education.
The District operates out of two fire stations that are staffed 24/7 with three shifts working rotating 24/48-hour shift schedules. Our district covers a total of 33 square miles of barrier island with 17 miles of beachfront.

Sanibel Fire & Rescue District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
