| Heartsaver CPR |
|
Courses in cardiopulmonary resuscitation are taught to the
community on selected dates posted on this website.
Students are taught by certified AHA instructors on how the EMS system works and to recognize stroke, angina, heart
attack, and cardiac arrest. Techniques in CPR for adults, children and infants along with treatment of choking victims are
also taught. Students receive a two-year CPR card from the American Heart Association. Classes may be taught to children

| AED
(Automated External Defibrillator) Programs |
Many businesses, churches,
golf course
communities, and agencies: Island Water Association, S.C.C.F, Sanibel - Captiva
Power Squadron, "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, as well as all City of Sanibel employees, have all been certified in CPR/AED by the Sanibel Fire District.

| First Aid |
|
Sanibel Fire and Rescue
offers a basic first aid course through the American Heart Association.
Students are taught to perform primary and secondary patient surveys,
monitor vital signs, patient management and the care in basic first aid for
medical emergencies. Students receive a two-year First Aid card from the
American Heart Association. If you would like to schedule a First Aid class for your

| Fire Extinguisher |
|

Sanibel Fire and Rescue presents a fire extinguisher program to businesses and civic organizations to promote the correct
usage and maintenance of a fire extinguisher. This program covers fire behavior, types of fires, exit drills, types of
extinguishers and there safe use. Live fire training will be demonstrated
and fire extinguishers used. If you would like to schedule a

| Fire Truck Demonstration |
|
Please contact the Fire District for special events and we will send either a fire Engine, Ladder Truck, 25' Boston Whaler
rescue boat, or one of the Advanced Life Support units. Examples include: schools, daycare facilities and festival events. This program gives the community an up-close
look at the tools and equipment that is on these various vehicles.
